Pre-Japan: The Final Dartmouth-side Orientation and First Ever Video Conference

As the day of arrival in Japan fast approaches, students gather one last time, receiving host families and conversing over a delicious curry-rice dinner. おいしいですね!

As we finished up our meeting, we moved to Dartmouth Hall for the first ever video conference with Professor Sekiya’s class at Kanda Gaigo Daigaku (where we will be studying this summer). We made the connection over Skype, and gathered around to commence conferencing. After brief introductions, students on both sides asked questions about each others schools and lives, in both Japanese and English.

And now, after much preparation and anticipation, the day of travel and finally, arrival in Japan is fast approaching. Professor Ericson and I will arrive in advance to assist with the arrival of the rest of the group at Narita Airport. Students will arrive on the 21st, to be escorted to the lovely Hotel Springs located in Makuhari. やった!And so, the adventure begins…
