International Researcher and Scholar Orientations

International researcher and faculty orientation sessions cover important information regarding visa regulations, obtaining local  driver's licenses,  social security cards, traveling and employment options.   This time is also used for the official manditory check-in for visiting international scholars, faculty and researchers; all scholars should plan to bring all immigration documents evidencing their specific immigration status, including as appropriate: DS-2019 (J-1 Exchange Visitor) Forms, visas, passports, I-94 cards and insurance information (J-1 Exchange Visitors only), as well as relevant documents for any dependents accompaning them, such as a child or spouse.  International researchers and faculty are encouraged to bring any accompaning dependents to the orientation sessions. Orientation and check-in sessions are approximately one hour and are scheduled twice weekly on Tuesdays at 10am and Thursdays at 3pm throughout the year. Advanced sign up is strongly recommended. Please note: individuals in H-1B, O-1 or TN status must arrange a one-on-one check-in session with their advisor, Robin Catmur or Ken Reade.
