Biography
Sean Padgett first began studying martial
arts in his home town of Groton, MA with the Tae Kwon Do
Karate Club (Tae Kwon Do Moo Duk Kwan) at age 13. Upon
reaching Dartmouth, he was forced to abandon his martial
studies in favor of rehearsals to complete his major (Music,
Dartmouth class of '00). After graduation, he remained in
Dartmouth and took a job with the college.
Sean began working out with the club (then the Dartmouth Tang Soo Do club)
after a chance meeting with J. Khai Tran (who was instructing the club at the time) at a student activities
fair and soon after became the club's advisor. In the Fall of 2004 Sean earned his Black belt in Tang Soo Do and soon after became the club's primary instructor. During Sean's tenure the club began it's transition towards more alive martial arts, eventually becoming a Straigh Blast Gym Affiliated Training Group in July, 2007. Sean also trains in Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under John Widmann at the
Upper Valley Judo Club.
