As part of the economic stimulus package passed by the US Congress earlier this year, $8 billion dollars was set aside for high-speed and intercity rail development in the country, including New England. New Hampshire and other New England states have come together to formulate a future vision for rail transport in this part of the nation. What is this vision and what are its chances for being realized? This ILEAD special lecture will be led by Peter Burling of Cornish, New Hampshire. He is chair of the New Hampshire Rail Transit Authority and a recognized authority on rail transportation.

Peter has been a Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives as well as the New Hampshire Senate. He is currently a member of the Democratic National Committee. He received his bachelor's degree from Harvard and a juris doctor's degree from the Harvard Law School.
