A Turkey Potpourri

TRAVEL/STUDY COURSE

Bob Koester
Tuesday 9:30 – 11:30 AM
January 10 through February 28, 2006
D.O.C. House

This course is intended for those who will be traveling to Turkey in March of 2006.  Participants will gain a familiarity with the Turkey of today, building on the historical insights that were presented in the spring and fall courses in 2005.  Guest presenters will cover a wide range of topics including archaeology, art, music, architecture and geology/geography.  Travel details will be covered, along with discussion of the specific venues on the itinerary.  One session will be devoted to solar eclipses – how they happen, their historical significance, and preparation for watching and photographing the total solar eclipse that the group will witness on March 29, 2006.

Those travelling to Turkey will have precedence.

BOB KOESTER's two previous total solar eclipse experiences (Baja California, 1991 and Aruba, 1998) have in no way diminished his desire to witness yet another one.  The opportunity to do this as part of a tour of a fascinating part of the world was the icing on the cake that led to the development of this ILEAD Study/Travel program.
