For centuries, Spain was home to three major cultures: Arabic, Jewish, and Christian. All of them have left significant marks on modern Spain through their historic struggles and shared evolution. This course will examine artistic manifestations that teach us of that unique coexistence in Andalusia and central Spain.
MIGUEL VALLADARES has been the Romance Language and Latin American librarian at Dartmouth College since 1998. He is originally from Bilbao, Spain, lived in Barcelona for ten years, and, since 1990, resides in the United States. He received a bachelors' degree in History from Deusto University in Bilbao, Spain, and a masters' degree in Library and Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
