Through lectures and discussions illustrated with slides, this study group will focus on the artistic development of the greatest of Dutch painters, Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn who was born on July 15, 1606, and died in 1669.  Rembrandt's work spanned the growth of the Northern Netherlands into a world power. How he matured and reflected this grand period in his art work will be closely examined.
