This course is intended for individuals with little to no experience with horses and horsemanship. Through readings, videos, lectures, and demonstrations, we will explore many aspects of horses and horse care. History of the horse, care of the horse, equine nutrition, horse health and disease, and the horse in competition are included among topics to be discussed.
The course will meet at Morton Farm in Etna, NH, a thirty-three stall recreational riding facility owned by the College. This location will allow participants to learn about horses from a practical approach.
Class is limited to 8 members.
