To celebrate the Hood Museum of Art's 20th anniversary, the museum will provide a rare glimpse of their "behind the scene" permanent collection. The exhibit, entitled "Marks of Distinction: Two Hundred Years of American Drawings and Watercolors," will feature artists including Copley, Homer, Cassatt, Whistler, Sargent, Stella and Pollack to name a few. This diverse course will analyze through discussions the variety of American styles, materials and subject matter that have attracted two centuries of artists.
Reading from the exhibition catalogue will provide insight into understanding this impressive show. The class will meet in the seminar room at the Hood Museum of Art. Handicap accessibility is available.
Class is limited to 12 members.
