A Survey of Central European Architecture

Jack Barrett

Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
March 22 - April 15, 2005
Tindle Lounge

In four sessions, using an informal lecture format, we will examine the major European architectural styles, particularly as they developed in the Rhein-Danube areas. While the cities to be visited by the Study-Travel group will receive special emphasis, the scope of the illustrations and discussion will be broad enough to be useful as an overview of European architecture in general. A brief textbook will be recommended for ancillary reading and future use.

Participants going to Holland/Hungary in May 2005 will have precedence.

Jack Barrett is a retired cardiologist who has enjoyed taking and leading ILEAD courses. His most recent presentations have included the "Architecture of the Art Nouveau, "Turn-of-the-Century Vienna," and "Renaissance Architecture."
