Election Year Economics

K. Philip Rahbany

Thursdays, 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
March 25 - May 13, 2004
D.O.C. House

Do you ever wonder how and what "pocket book issues" may impact the national elections of 2004?

The purpose of the course is to join the national debate and to clarify its underlying economic nature and principles. Topics such as the basics of supply, demand and prices of goods; poverty and higher standards of living; budget deficits, taxes and fiscal policies; and jobs and unemployment will be discussed. Reading assignments will be limited to twenty pages to be reviewed prior to the course's eight sessions, in addition to each participant's scanning of relevant newsprint and televised election coverage.

Class is limited to 12 members.

K. Philip Rahbany, Ph.D. in economics, University of Wisconsin 1958, served as economist to the U.S. Interstate Commerce Commission, taught at Texas A & M University, consulted on international and national economic development plans, and directed small mortgage banking and real estate companies.
