A layperson's abbreviated look at the never-ending ebb and flow of judicial power vs. the legislative process as seen through the lives of two of the greats of American legal history: John Marshall and Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

Reading material will be available through the ILEAD office with special attention and class discussion given to "Marbury vs. Madison" and some Holmes commentary and dissents.

Class is limited to 20 participants.

Joe Conn (Colgate '50, Columbia Law '53) is a retired New Jersey Superior Court Judge (17 years) and former Corporation Counsel of Paterson, NJ (5 years) who retired to West Windsor, VT in 1993. Ever since he has been an active "ILEADian" both as class participant and study leader as well as council member and curriculum committee chair.
