Robert Russell

Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
September 28 - November 2, 2005
D.O.C. House

Fundamental to an understanding of Spain’s history is an awareness of its distinctive geography and topography; changing demography is no less important. Pre-historic, legendary "Hispania," Roman, Visigothic, and late medieval Spain are the background for the Islamic presence and "final" reunification of the nation in 1492, and the "Empire."

Class is limited to travelers.

Robert Russell is a Hispanic scholar who taught at Dartmouth College from 1957 to 2003. He has lived, studied and taught in Spain, and is well acquainted with Spain’s varied history, terrain, and peoples.
