Remember all the hoopla over Terri Schiavo whose illness catapulted our nation into a debate between the culture of life and the right to die? What’s your opinion? Should Americans have a right to chose death over life? Is there, indeed, a culture of life in our country? In our politics? And how do you feel about the current controversy over Vioxx, Merck’s prescription pain medication? Do mega-pharmaceutical corporations always act ethically? How should these companies balance their responsibilities to both patients and shareholders? Let’s explore these and other medical ethics questions together. Our goal will be the exchange of ideas and the enjoyment of lively discussion.
Class is limited to 10 members.
