In a relaxed environment, we will be doing a variety of exercises to strengthen your creative muscles. Like physical workouts prepare you for many different activities, these creative workouts will influence writing, cooking, art, friendship, music, parenting, dance, teaching, management, international policy... what couldn't benefit from creative attention?
We'll use centering, sensory focus, movement, sound, non-dominant side work, and games to access our creativity, emphasizing the process, not the product. We will have creative workouts to do between classes because practice helps. We are not limited by gender, occupation or the existing state of creative muscles; each of us, male or female, artist or accountant, benefits from building our creative strengths. Expect to surprise yourself.
A small fee (under $25) may be charged toward the end of the course to reimburse the leader for materials purchased for the class. We will create journals which may involve some purchases, depending on our choices.
Class is limited to 20 members.
Patricia Norton devotes creative energies to composing music, writing, parenting, homemaking and friendship. She has worked as a mime, danced in college, published poetry, and led ILEAD courses in literature and music. This fall, Patricia will be working on two commissions for choral pieces, so keeping those creative muscles toned is both a joy and a necessity!
