This course aims at introducing and applying basic economic concepts and analytical tools to current economic topics. These topics include allocation and utilization of economic resources, business cycles, and government policies, business management, and comparative review of accumulation and distribution of wealth.

Reading assignments will average about 45 pages per week to be read prior to and in preparation for a combination of class discussions and lectures. Optional open-book one-hour tests will be offered midway and on completion of the eight-week program to those that wish to take them.

Class is limited to 12 participants.

K. Philip Rahbany Ph.D. in Economics, University of Wisconsin 1958, served as economist to the U.S. Interstate Commerce Commission, taught at Texas A&M University, consulted on international and national economic development plans, and directed small mortgage banking and real estate companies.
