A discussion of the reasons for the exodus to Paris. The cast of characters (brief backgrounds of the most prominent), the locale, readings: The Great Gatsby and The Sun Also Rises, the salons, the "little" magazine, the publishing of Ulysses, the revolution of fiction. Discussion of all of the above.
Class is limited to 20 participants.
W. Ray Dewees attended Dartmouth College 1942-43, US Navy, 1943-45, University of Pennsylvania 1950, US Virgin Islands 1956-72, and Co. Wicklow Representative of Ireland 1972-1994. He has resided in Etna, NH since 1994 and has been a book lover and collector since 1935.
