Application
Prospective students in the Dartmouth Polar Environmental Change IGERT should be at or near the start of their doctoral studies and interested in research focused on polar research questions. Students are funded for two years of their graduate program at $30,000 per year. Funding for other years is awarded from departmental fellowships and faculty research grants at a rate set by the Graduate Division.
APPLICATIONS FOR FALL 2012 WILL BE ACCEPTED BEGINNING FALL 2011.
Dartmouth IGERT fellowships are open to US citizens or permanent residents. (Canadian-born students who qualify under the American Indian Law Alliance can also apply.)
We strongly recommend that students contact a Dartmouth faculty member in their area of interest as well as the IGERT program before applying.
Applicants must first be accepted by one of the participating PhD programs at Dartmouth (earth sciences, ecology and evolutionary biology, or engineering) in order to receive an IGERT fellowship. Make your graduate applications online at Dartmouth's Apply Yourself website. You must go there and submit a graduate application first. The IGERT fellowship application can besubmitted there along with other required information. An IGERT application form can be obtained by emailing IGERT@dartmouth.edu or calling 603-646-1278.
Applicants receive formal notification of their acceptance from the department to which they applied and the Graduate Studies Office. They subsequently receive information about the status of their IGERT application.
