The protagonist of MLK Celebration keynote speaker Sherman Alexie's new movie is a gay American Indian poet who returns home after years of estrangement from his reservation. Through his story, Fancydancing compels the audience to struggle and contend with complex issues of racism, sexual identity, history, loyalty, and the price of success. Discussion with Professor Goeman to follow.
