Argyre I Planitia: is a light area and was formerly regarded as a Plateau. This is not the case. Argyre I is a basin, with a relatively featureless interior and a comparatively well marked border - particularly to the north-west. Argyre I is less deep than Hellas but is essentially the same formation.
