Life On Mars?

Mars figures prominently in science, popular culture and literature. Recent evidence suggests life once existed on Mars. Planetary probes describe a planet that may have had oceans and flowing water. Technological advances have made a human mission to Mars a possible goal, rather than a science fiction story.

These facts, however, raise several questions. How compelling are the data about life on Mars? If Mars was once a warmer, wetter planet, what caused the change? Is a human mission to Mars a worthwhile undertaking?

This web site provides access to some of the key information needed to address these questions.
