The Dartmouth Staff Partnership (DSP) was formed in April, 2004,
originally under the name HR and Staff Partnership. This Web site will
provide information regarding news, events, and opportunities of interest to
the staff at Dartmouth College.
You can contact us at dartmouth.staff.partnership@dartmouth.edu.
Our Mission
The Dartmouth Staff Partnership builds community, increases recognition
opportunities, and promotes personal and professional growth for staff.
Background
In August of 2003, the Office of Human Resources was one of the sponsors of
the first annual Support Staff Conference. Entitled Awareness and
Enrichment: The Role of Support Staff as Educators, the event was
organized by and for nonexempt staff and was attended by nearly seventy
nonexempt employees from across campus.
Some of the issues and needs eliciting the most robust discussion included
career development and recognition programs for support staff. Recognizing that
Human Resources could be a valuable partner in achieving these goals, a
volunteer group of staff joined with Barbara Johnson, Acting Associate Vice
President for Human Resources, and James Burger, HR Communications
Manager, to form the Dartmouth Staff Partnership in April, 2004.
The Dartmouth Staff Partnership is a unique example of team building founded
on shared responsibility. It represents an excellent opportunity for staff to
collaborate, develop professionally, and to manage projects that benefit
Dartmouth staff.
