Professional recruiters in the Office of Human Resources work closely with
the hiring officer to develop the recruitment action plan. If you are
about to begin a search for a staff position of any level, first contact your
HR consultant about your general staffing needs and to determine whether a
position. Each division is assigned a professional recruiter who will help
develop the advertising plan, source and screen candidates as requested and
assist with the recruitment process.

At the beginning of a search for salaried positions, the Office of
Institutional Diversity and Equity (IDE) collaborates with the recruiter and
provides data for search chairs that describes the availability of women and
minorities in the national pool of candidates for the specific position being
filled. We also identify hiring goals, if applicable. Additionally, on a
regular basis, IDE provides information to departmental and divisional leaders
about Dartmouth's effectiveness with regard to Equal Opportunity and
Affirmative Action in recruitment and hiring.
