Support Guidelines

Humanities Computing provides general computing support as well as more specialized support to faculty and staff in the Humanities.

General
Since the field of information technology changes so rapidly, and involves so many different aspects, in general we concentrate our resources and knowledge on the most commonly used systems and applications in use at Dartmouth.

To view a current list of supported hardware, software and operating systems, please check the support guidelines web page at:

http://www.dartmouth.edu/comp/about/policies/software/supported.html

If your hardware or software is not on the support list, we can work with you to find alternatives. These may include pointing you to alternative sources of support, perhaps the vendor of the hardware or software you are working with, or suggesting ways to convert to supported hardware or software.

Specialized support for the Humanities
Office visits for computing support
Equipment Setup (desktop, laptop, peripherals)
Consulting on purchasing decisions
Diagnosis of hardware and software problems
Training (group and one-to-one)
Foreign Language Computer Configuration (Chinese, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Japanese, etc.)
