May 11: Alaska's Pamyua shared their unique musical hybrid of traditional Yup'ik songs and funky a capella harmonies during this spirited music class visit.

May 3-9: Scenes from the culminating performance of a week-long residency with Nashua, NH-based Indian dancer Jasmine Shah. Shah's visit was part of Global Eyes a Hopkins Center outreach project funded through the ArtLinks Initiative of the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and highlighted traditional dance and music from India.

May 1-5: During their week-long Music Department Residency at Dartmouth, Ken Zuckerman and ensemble members explored links between classical Indian and medieval European music. The group presented guest lectures in several Dartmouth classes and performed lecture/demonstrations for Dartmouth students, community members, and local school children.

February 27: Tuvan folk musicians Alash engaged with the members of Amarna, a co-ed Dartmouth society, during a lively dinner and musical exchange. Throughout the evening, Alash demonstrated traditional Tuvan instruments and throat singing while the students reciprocated with their own songs and dances.

October 31 - November 4: As part of Global Eyes, funded through the ArtLinks Initiative of the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, NH-based Vietnamese dancer Chi Potter spent the week teaching local school children various Vietnamese songs and dances. The week included morning movement sessions, daily rehearsals, and culminated in performances for the entire school and for parents.

September 28: Artists from Yunnan, China's Yi ethnic minority group discuss the techniques and stories behind their rich embroidery work with members of the Northern Lights Guild. This evening of cultural exchange also proved educational for the Yi artists as they learned about the Guild members' own quilting and sewing techniques.

September 28: Students from Dartmouth's Chinese Culture Society and Chinese Dance Troupe met with artists from China's Yunnan province for dinner and a discussion of China's rich cultural traditions. The artists demonstrated their hand crafted instruments, sang folk songs, and discussed their backgrounds.

September 26: Through mini-performances of traditional folk dance and music as well as embroidery, instrument-making and pictograph demonstrations, Dartmouth students and community members enjoyed this informal event featuring a sampling of the rich artistry of Yunnan's ethnic minorities. September 26: Much to the delight of local elementary school students and teachers, artists from China's Yunnan province presented a rousing educational performance of indigenous music and dance. This in-school performance highlighted the sounds of the gourd flute and moon guitar, and incorporated several dances including a country stomp.

July 30: Yerba Buena presented an explosive concert of Afro-Latin flavored grooves at the BEMA, a natural outdoor amphitheater on the Dartmouth campus. Following their high-energy performance, the band greeted students at a barbeque sponsored by the Leslie Center for the Humanities.
