April 4: Vocal dynamo Bobby McFerrin instructed student singers in the art of active listening, dynamics, and performance skills during two open coaching sessions in Rollins Chapel. McFerrin worked with the Dodecaphonics -- a co-ed a capella group -- as well as the Dartmouth College Glee Club and Chamber Singers.

February 9: In this lively and interactive lecture/demonstration, the Soweto Gospel Choir demonstrated their flawless vocal dynamics, discussed the power of the drum in Africa, and showed its inextricable link to dance. The group selected volunteers from the Dartmouth Gospel Choir and members of Hafiz Shabazz's "Oral Traditions" class to play rhythms, dance, and sing along with the choir.
