The day before their standing-room only Hop concert, famed Afro-Pop group Orchestra Baobab presented an intimate lecture/demonstration for Dartmouth students at Brewster International House. The musicians spoke about their Senegalese roots, the band's rich history and the music scene in Dakar -- past and present. During the presentation, an audience member spontaneously jumped up and sang a Kenyan song and the band quickly accompanied him. The moment was proof that when one speaks the language of music, musicians from every country can communicate with each other through song.
