Legendary guitarist John Scofield led a master class in Faulkner Recital Hall on the day of his performance in Spaulding Auditorium. Three student guitarists played original songs and Sco provided feedback and advice. Some of his pearls of widsom included:
"Try a lot of different things out. The more grooves you learn, the more you can play in an improvised way."
"There's nothing like playing [music] with other people; it opens up a whole different bunch of possibilities. You need that input from the rest of the world. I want to practice until I'm ready but I'm never ready. I wish I knew the perfect way to practice. We have to teach ourselves how to learn."
