Chinese New Year is a family affair, a celebratory time of reunion and thanksgiving honoring one's ancestors and community. 2008 welcomes the Year of the Rat! Dartmouth's Chinese Dance Troupe performed a number of traditional and original dances reflecting the beauty and grace of this time-honored art form, including a fan dance, the dance of the Phoenix, a ribbon dance and a Tibetan dance. Children had the chance to try a few moves with the fans and ribbons, joining in this colorful and festive holiday!
