Class of 2007 and Commencement photos by Joseph Mehling ‘69

Commencement

A number of History majors and minors from the Class of 2007 responded to a request for information about their plans for life after Dartmouth.  Here is what they had to say in June 2007:

Julia Bernstein:  “In late July, I will be starting as a Business Analyst in the Boston office of McKinsey & Company, the management consulting firm.”

Kale Bongers:  “I've been awarded a Reynolds Scholarship to work toward an M.A. in History of Medicine at McGill University. I'll be researching the origins of physician antipathy toward the nationalization of the Canadian health care system from the 1960s through the 1980s.”

Lorraine Buhannic:  “I will be in New York next year working as a recruiter in the investment banking department of Merrill Lynch.”

Abe Clayman:  “Starting in late June, and for at least the next year, I will be teaching pre-kindergarten at a Washington, D.C. public charter school. The school is a KIPP Academy, part of a group of charter schools throughout the country that focuses on improving the education of underserved students through a more intense curriculum, more time in the classroom, and more parent/teacher involvement. I hope to teach for at least a few years and, if I enjoy it, to continue teaching for the near future.”

Ahmed Deria:  “Next year, I will be joining JP Morgan's leveraged finance and restructuring group in New York.  I hope to attend grad school after two or three years.”

Karen Heighes:  “At the end of July, I will begin work as an Account Associate in AdWords for Google in Ann Arbor, Michigan.”

Christine Huggins:  “I will be attending law school at the University of Iowa next year.  One day, I hope to serve as a judge in a quaint Midwest town.”

Patricia Inman:  “My post-graduation plan is participating in JET [Japan Exchange and Teaching Program].  I then hope to earn a master’s degree in International Relations.”
