Shalom and bruchim ha’ba’im (welcome back) for 12S everyone!
To start off Spring right, despite the gross weather, here is a video of a cute little Israeli girl singing the Israeli classic “Hagalshan Sheli” (My Surfboard)! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-ngYe51tgc
This week’s Hebrew word of the week is “adishut” (pronounced AH-DEE-SHOOT), which means “apathy.” Speaking of apathy, I and some other friends are working on a project to decrease campus apathy (and thus increase campus caring about) the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Essentially, we are putting up small flyers around campus that have individual people’s pictures on them, with a statement from them underneath the picture talking about why they care about the conflict, or how they are connected to it in some way. If you are interested in being featured in this (YOUR PICTURE! IN THE SAME CONTEXT AS PICTURES OF ME, SO YOU LOOK GREAT IN COMPARISON!), please, please, please blitz me!
As for news this week, here is an interesting article about the state of affairs in American lobbying groups pertaining to Israel sent to me by Nick Parillo ’15: http://www.economist.com/node/21551055
Hope everyone’s first week of classes goes excellently! Remember, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, complaints, compliments, or other c-words related to the Israel update, feel free to blitz me (Ittai). And also blitz me if you want to be in the poster campaign!!!
