DARTMOUTH HILLEL

DARTMOUTH COLLEGE

Cross Cultural Service Project

BELARUS 2003

University Students

While in Grodno, student participants had the opportunity to meet and interact with local Grodno State University students.  The university students took the Dartmouth students on a walking tour of the city, out to a restaurant, and to a couple of clubs at night.  Additionally, the university students were invited among others on a two-hour boat ride through the Nemen river and back to the hotel in Grodno to hang out with American students.  Even though the time spent together was limited, both Belarusian and American students were able to gain greater perspectives on life (economic, social, political and religious factors) in the others' respective country.  The experience was extremely rewarding and one that many of the participants valued as an integral part of the project.
