Leslie joined Health Resources 11 1/2 years ago as the Department Administrative Assistant. Over the years, and concurrent with staff changes, her position has undergone many revisions. Currently, she provides primary support to Ryan Travia in the AOD Education office. Previous to this, Leslie worked for almost 7 years in the Department of Psychiatry at the Sleep Disorders Center. Les grew up in Harvard, Massachusetts among apple orchards and pastures. She was an accomplished horseback rider and competed during her high school years in many 3-Day events throughout New England. After graduation, she attended Ashland College, in Ashland, Ohio where she earned her BA in Comprehensive Home Economics.
Leslie is very proud of her 24 year old daughter, an Iowa State University graduate, who is working at the same Sleep Disorders Center as a Registered Polysomnographic Technician. She is also a passionate dog lover, and thoroughly enjoys talking about her two canine friends -- Shawnee, a rescued, female German Shepherd and, Seal, a gleeful, female, yellow Lab. When not at the Health Service, Les is busy restoring her 200+ year old Shaker home in Enfield, NH. She considers herself a semi-accomplished, novice carpenter as her occasional black & blue, "hammered" fingernails attest. A favorite past-time, Les peruses local thrift stores, seeking treasures that have potential to be recycled and used in her home renovation projects. There's a sign above her garage that simply says, CINDERELLA'S -- which, to her means, a place where magic happens. Les says that at her age, it's OK to be benignly outrageous!
