Sudafed PE® or generic Phenylephrine (fen il ef' rin) 10 mg is in a class of
medications called nasal decongestants. It is used to relieve nasal or sinus
congestion caused by colds, allergies, and hay fever. It is also used to
relieve ear congestion caused by ear inflammation or infection. It works by
reducing swelling of the nasal passages. Your symptoms should improve during
your treatment. To help prevent trouble in sleeping, take the last dose of
Phenylephrinefor each day a few hours before bedtime.If your symptoms do not
get better within 7 days or if you have a fever, stop taking phenylephrine and
call your doctor.
