OSHA Hepatitis B Vaccination & Testing

Dartmouth College provides a bloodborne pathogens safety program that includes Hepatitis B vaccination and testing for faculty and staff who are determined to have job-related exposure. Eligibility for the program is determined by the Office of Environmental Health and Safety.

Hepatitis B vaccination involves a series of three injections. In the usual schedule, the second injection follows one month after the first. The third injection is given five months after the second. The entire series must be completed for immunity to develop. There is a titer (blood test) to determine if an individual has immunity to Hepatitis B.

To determine eligibility, call the Office of Environment Health and Safety (EHS) at 646-1762. Eligible faculty and staff should call the Health Service at 650-1401 to schedule an appointment.
