A brief history of Dartmouth's Greek system

The Greek letter organizations at Dartmouth

Dartmouth's Greek system began in 1841, founded on principles of scholarship, service, leadership, and the development of lifelong friends.
Today, over 150 years later,
the Coed, Fraternity, and Sorority (CFS) System remains an integral part of residential and social life at Dartmouth. From the winter of sophomore year onwards, students may choose to join a Greek organization. To this day, Greek organizations offer numerous opportunities for leadership, scholarship, service, brotherhood and sisterhood.
