Graduate students affected by Hurricane Katrina can apply to and receive temporary appointments in Dartmouth Graduate programs as special graduate scholars. The application and admission of qualified students must be arranged through one of Dartmouth's existing graduate programs (http://www.dartmouth.edu/~gradstdy/programs/list.html) and the Graduate Studies Office. Special Graduate Student Applications are available from the Graduate Office. Individual graduate programs will be responsible for providing office and/or laboratory space on a case-by-case basis.
Tuition for these special graduate scholars will be waived. However, graduate student health insurance must be maintained either through an existing policy or by enrollment in Dartmouth's student health insurance program. The Graduate Studies Office can provide assistance with health insurance issues and answer questions related to admission as a special graduate scholar (contact (603)646-2106).
