Friends, acquaintances and classmates of Mikhail Lomakin, gathered for a candlelight vigil to celebrate his memory last night, outside Wilder Hall at Dartmouth College. Lomakin was a first-year physics graduate student who self-taught himself the subject after studying atmospheric science and mathematics at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.
