Marye Anne Fox, who matriculated from Dartmouth’s Arts and Sciences Programs in 1974, was recently awarded the National Medal of Science. She received the award for decades of research in basic chemistry, including work that has helped improve solar energy, better reveal the nature of air pollution, and advanced scientist’s understanding of possible biological attacks by terrorists. Currently, Professor Fox serves as the chancellor of UC San Diego.
