How To Get Started

Baker LibraryIn the late 1760s Samson Occom and Nathaniel Whittaker Traveled to Great Britain to raise funds for Eleazar Wheelock's vision of a College in the forests of New Hampshire. They successfully raised "a small fortune" of 11,000 pounds. The funds were placed into trusts, known as the English and Scottish Funds, with the interest providing the funds necessary to establish Dartmouth College.

Gift Planning has continued to grow in importance. Today it offers a number of creative and flexible ways for alumni and friends to express support for the College while meeting both personal and philanthropic goals by making use of available tax benefits and allowing donors to give more than they thought possible.

To help you get started we've pulled together a collection of documentation and information about the opportunities. We hope that you'll contact us for more information to start your gift plan today.
