Government Seminar Request Process

Enrollment in Government seminars is “by permission only.”   To request a seminar in Government, a student must do the following:

    • To request a Government Seminar you must first ENROLL FOR THE SEMINAR THROUGH BANNER STUDENT.  You will receive a return notice saying that PERMISSION IS REQUIRED TO ENROLL IN THIS COURSE.
    • In order to seek permission COMPLETE AND SUBMIT the Seminar Request Form on the Government webpage.
    • THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING THE SEMINAR REQUEST FORM FOR FALL OF 2008 IS MIDNIGHT ON MAY 12, 2008.
    • The Government Department will then review all requests and students will be granted permission based on need and rationale.
    • Students will be notified if they have or have not been granted permission to enroll by MIDNIGHT ON MAY 16, 2008.  If you are granted permission and no longer want to take the course, please let us know as soon as possible.  This slot will be given to another student.
    • A list of permitted students will be given to the Registrar.  No additional form or permission card is necessary.
    • If you did not enroll in Banner Student prior to receiving permission, you will need to do so during the open enrollment period (May 7 - May 15).
    • IF YOU TRY TO ENROLL IN BANNER STUDENT AND DO NOT GET PERMISSION FROM THE DEPARTMENT, YOUR NAME WILL BE DROPPED FROM THE BANNER LIST AT THE END OF COURSE SELECTION PERIOD.

Please contact Christine Gex, Department Administrator, if you have any questions or concerns.
