The Capstone Experience

Geography 90: Research in Geography is our culminating experience, aimed at senior majors who have completed the prerequisites (minimally) and have had a number of other geography courses. Juniors may also take G90 if they have met the prerequisites. The focal point of the course is an independent research project proposal by each student, and includes the preparation and peer-review of a research proposal, and a written and orally presented compilation of the project proposal. Advising is contributed by all faculty, in their areas of interest as they overlap with the students' interests. Many students use the G90 paper as part of or background to a thesis or honors thesis conducted in the last two terms of the senior year.
