Laboratory Technician in the Saito Lab

Dr. Saito is searching for a Technician who will set up and conduct a variety of laboratory tests and experiments in support of research studies directed at using genetic and molecular biological approaches to clone and characterize new genes identified in genetic screens.

Key accountabilities of this position include:

• Conducting specified laboratory experiments/tests, using a range of established methods, procedures and techniques, e.g. phenotypic analyses of mutant C. elegans strains, mapping of C. elegans mutations, microinjections and maintaining and organizing C. elegans stocks.
• Ordering laboratory supplies as needed.

The right individual for this position will have:

• 1-3 years of relevant laboratory or science experience;
• Competence in laboratory methods and procedures;
• Associates or Bachelors degree in Biology, Genetics or Chemistry, or the equivalent. A Bachelors degree is preferred.
