Course Syllabus
Chemistry 6 builds on Chemistry 3 and 5, especially during the first two weeks or so as we study chemical reaction rates. The remainder of the course centers on atomic and molecular structure -- why the Periodic Table looks the way it does and how atoms work to make chemical bonds in molecules and solids. The table below gives a preliminary outline of the topics and reading for this term. We may not follow it exactly, but we will never be far from this schedule! Note that Monday, May 27, is Memorial Day holiday (and the first day of Reading Period, even though there are classes later in the week); x-hours (shown below in red) will be used as well! Note that I will be out of town Thursday and Friday, May 16 and 17. No class either day.
