FS 36: Experimental Videomaking

This course explores video as a kind of writing, in particular through the making of video diaries and first-person works. It covers the basics of developing a video from idea through realization on the screen. Students are expected to produce several exercises which emphasize ideas outside the traditional narrative and documentary forms and are encouraged to develop their own form of aesthetic expression. Students show and critique their work in class weekly in preparation for a final project and public screening at the end of the term.
