Film Studies 35 is a workshop course in a variety of animation techniques including
drawing, object, process and 3-D computer animation. Working individually, students will complete four short exercises as well as one
extended final project that will be shown at the Dartmouth Animation Festival. Weekly classes will include
thorough critiques of completed work as well as screenings of professional animation
and meetings with visiting animators from around the world. Students will be expected to work an average of
20 hours a week on independent projects outside of class. Permission of the instructor is required
and given after the first day of class.
