Writing 5 Exemption Criteria for Class of 2013 The Writing Program at Dartmouth has determined the criteria for exemption from Writing 5 and placement into a First-Year Seminar for the incoming class of 2013. The criteria is as follows:
At least 750 SAT verbal AND 750 SAT writing
OR
at least 750 SAT verbal AND 730 SAT writing AND at least 11 on the SAT essay.
AP scores will not be used to determine placement for writing courses.
