First-Year Orientation

DOC Trip

Orientation gives you the tools to make a strong start here at Dartmouth.  Many students will begin their introduction to our community through Dartmouth Outing Club (DOC) trips.  Although these are not an official part of Orientation, they are unique student-led programs that introduce you to northern New England and allow you to meet a small group of class members. During Orientation you will meet members of your residential community, attend class meetings, take placement tests, meet with your faculty advisor, register for courses, and attend departmental open houses. In addition, you will learn about the social, cultural and recreational opportunities at Dartmouth through workshops, speakers, tours, films, and other special events.
