Your individual address here at the College will be mailed to you in mid-August with your housing assignment. Here is an example of how your mail and packages should be addressed:
John Jones Dartmouth College 1111 Hinman Hanover, N.H. 03755-3529
Your Hinman mail box is located on the first floor of the Hopkins Center. Students wishing to send belongings, including trunks, in advance of their arrival should address items as shown in the sample above. Your box will be available beginning September 2. Please plan shipments accordingly. Shipment may be made by U.S. mail or by a shipping company such as Airborne, United Parcel Service, or Federal Express. If the company requests a “street address” for delivery, add the following information to the address: Hinman Post Office, Hopkins Center, Lebanon & Wheelock Streets; Hanover, New Hampshire 03755. Parcels and packages shipped to students are received at the Hinman Post Office for distribution. The packages are placed in secure storage and a notice with the date and time of receipt is placed in the student’s post office box. The notice requests that students pick up their packages at their earliest convenience. During the first three weeks of the fall term and first two weeks of the other terms the Hinman Post Office extends their operating hours with weekend and evening hours available for your convenience.
Limited storage space and the possibility of loss or damage to packages stored for extended periods necessitate the Hinman Post Office staff to return all packages to the sender that are not picked up within 15 days after receipt of notice.
Your Dartmouth e-mail account, referred to as BlitzMail on campus, is in the following format:
firstname.lastname@dartmouth.edu
You have received password information and instructions for installing Blitz Mail in the enclosed mailing from the First-Year Office. Computing Services provides assistance for BlitzMail.
