
Ph.D -- UCLA (2004), M.A. -- University of Virginia (1997), Laurea in Letteratura italiana moderna e contemporanea -- University of Parma (1992). His current research and scholarly interests include the writings of the Italian neo-avantgarde, Futurism, the partisan war in literature and movies, 19th-century and 20th century Italian literature, language pedagogy and the use of technology in teaching. His translations, essays and reviews have been published in Studi Novecenteschi, Anterem, Rivista di studi italiani, Il Verri, and Lectura Dantis Virginiana. In 2000 he also edited with Luigi Ballerini, Elena Coda and Paul Vangelisti the anthology of contemporary Italian poetry The Promised Land (Los Angeles, Sun & Moon Press). Ponti, a textbook for second year Italian language studies co-authored with Elissa Tognozzi, was published in 2004 by Houghton & Mifflin. He has also translated in Italian several American poets now published in Nuova poesia americana. San Francisco (Mondadori, 2006).
